An easier one yesterday. The player formerly known as Afghanistan was of course Mark Waugh (the forgotten Waugh). He was given the name by a humourous Essex dressing room. Plenty of points all around – the first 5 were awarded 6,5,4,3,2 and everyone else who got it right received one point. Straying into Whose Line is it Anyway? scoring territory aren’t we?
Oh, and a bonus point to Mick (g’day!) who told me something I didn’t know; that Mark Waugh is also known as Audi after getting four 0s on a tour to Sri Lanka once.
Leaderboard as follows…
7 Alex Crompton, Mick
6 Ajay Sugavanam
5 Matthew Barrett, John Hawinkels
4 Jonny Gould
3 Tom Cotterell
2 Elliott Charles
1 Vishakh Chandrasekhar, Liam Kelly
Anyway, onto the next one…
This is a ‘closest to the number question’ – no fastest finger first, just the five nearest guesses (no cheating!) to the actual answer will get points…
As of RIGHT NOW (i.e. including the Aus-Eng and Ind-Sri games that finished this morning) how many runs have been scored in the entire history of test cricket?
‘How to play’ recap
Every day there will be a quiz question. Could be anything – picture, trivia, the CPS announcement of the Stokes charging verdict. Anything.
Reply using the form below the question each day. In general, the first five people to answer correctly get 5,4,3,2,1 points, although this may change on any given day if the question doesn’t lend itself to this format. Bonus points may also make an appearance!
At the end of the 24 days, the winner based on cumulative score will be announced. Updates along the way of course. I’m sure we can rustle up a prize too…
