After today, much like one of my boundary-seeking cover drives, we are a third of the way there!
Yesterday’s question asked you to be the umpire – no-one’s idea of fun when you’re already out in a Sunday league game. If the batsmen run four, then the ball hits the keeper’s helmet, then the ball goes over the boundary it is…
As soon as the ball hits the helmet, it is considered a dead ball situation. Up until that point everything counts. So 4 for the running + 5 penalty runs for hitting the helmet, but not another 4 for the ‘overthrows’.
Plenty of entries but only four correct (13 and 5 were the other common answers): John H (5 points), Lostmertonian (4), Matt B (3), Liam K (2).
13 Matthew Barrett
10 Alex Crompton, John Hawinkels
8 Ajay Sugavanam
4 Jonny Gould
3 Tom Cotterell, Liam Kelly
2 Elliott Charles
1 Vishakh Chandrasekhar
Today’s it’s anagram time!

‘How to play’ recap
Every day there will be a quiz question. Could be anything – picture, trivia, the CPS announcement of the Stokes charging verdict. Anything.
Reply using the form below the question each day. In general, the first five people to answer correctly get 5,4,3,2,1 points, although this may change on any given day if the question doesn’t lend itself to this format. Bonus points may also make an appearance!
At the end of the 24 days, the winner based on cumulative score will be announced. Updates along the way of course. I’m sure we can rustle up a prize too…
